Job summary

ServiceMaster Janitorial Partners is seeking a part-time janitorial associate to perform light duties at our customer's building. The role requires 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with duties including cleaning common areas, restrooms, floors, and related tasks.

On-the-job training is provided. Prior experience with professional janitorial companies is a plus, and candidates should be flexible, able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task. English communication is required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ custodian/janitor experience preferred, not required.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Experience with professional janitorial companies (office complexes, hotels, hospitals, schools) is a plus.
• Ability to be flexible, work at a fast pace and multi-task.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Able to read cleaning instructions.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Remove debris and maintain common spaces.
• Restock bathrooms and monitor supplies.
• Perform cleaning using provided janitorial products, tools and procedures.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, polish, take out trash, clean windows, move furniture as needed.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Place safety signs (wet floor) as required.
• Respond to major spills or cleaning emergencies.
• Contribute to a positive work climate and be dependable and on time.

Job Position Description

This position is perfect for someone that needs 20 hours/wk Monday - Friday will be responsible for light janitorial duties for our customer’s building.

Responsibilities

• Overall duties include removing debris, maintaining common space areas, restocking bathrooms, and responding to all cleaning emergencies.
• Perform all cleaning duties for facilities using provided ServiceMaster products, tools and procedures.
• Cleaning duties include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, trash, windows cleaning and moving furniture, equipment, etc.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE where required.
• Clean all common space areas including kitchen floors, cafeteria, lobby and break room.
• Place safety hazard signs in the building including “wet floor” signs as necessary.
• Monitor, clean, service and restock bathrooms.
• Respond immediately to any major spills or other cleaning crisis.
• Remove litter and debris from common space areas.
• 1-2 years’ experience as a custodian, janitor, housekeeper a plus but not required.
• Will provide on‑the‑job training to those with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital or school is a plus.
• Ability to be flexible, work at a fast‑pace and multi‑task is a must.
• Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude and contribute to the overall team effort including being in uniform, dependable and on time.
• Has respect and understanding for co‑workers and customers.
• Must be able to communicate in English.

Physical Demands and Qualifications

• Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching overhead, and reaching forward. Must be able to lift and/or carry 25 lbs.
• Ability to read cleaning instructions.
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses.
