Job summary

Safari Island Community Center in Waconia, MN is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to ensure the safety of guests in and near the pool area. You will enforce all pool rules, supervise swimmers, and provide courteous guest service.

The role requires current Deep Water Lifeguard Training and CPR/AED for Lifeguards or the ability to complete certification within 30 days of hire; you will work with a championship level team committed to fun, fulfillment and service.

Qualifications

• Current Deep Water Lifeguard Training by the American Red Cross and First Aid, CPR/AED for Lifeguards or able to complete training and earn certification within 30 days of hire
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work well with others
• Must be at least 16 years of age or older

Responsibilities

• Enforcing all pool rules
• Preventing injuries and minimizing hazardous situations
• Providing patron surveillance whenever a patron is swimming
• Handling injuries, accidents, and emergencies as they arise
• Instructing swimming and water safety to various ages
• Completing assigned cleaning duties
• Attending in-service training as scheduled
• Providing courteous and friendly guest service
• Greet guests and provide information
• Operate ticket sales booth and handle cash
• Maintain knowledge of venue programs and policies
• Maintain confidentiality of guest and team member information
• Resolve guest concerns and direct to management
• Maintain a clean space and perform regular walk-throughs
• Supervise and enforce rules during events
• Complete special projects and daily assignments
