Job summary

Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska is seeking a part-time Kitchen Aide for the Peterson Senior Activity Center Meal Program in Kearney. The role focuses on kitchen cleanliness, assisting with meal prep, and safe food handling in daytime hours.

Typical schedule is 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, 20 hours per week, with starting pay at $15.00 per hour. Benefits are not available for this position, and employees are with Community Action not the city.

Qualifications

• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public and agency employees.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (cooking, meal serving, cleaning).
• Ability to lift more than 30 pounds on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for general cleaning, housekeeping, and dishwashing in the kitchen and dining area.
• Ensure the maintenance of all kitchen equipment and daily kitchen and dining area clean up.
• Assist in daily meal preparation as needed.
• Assist on serving line, as needed.
• Assist in daily meal preparation.
• Clean kitchen area, dining area, and store room area.
• Clean all utensils, cooking vessels, and serving equipment.
• Inventory tracking/reporting as needed.
