Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a full-time, board-eligible or board-certified adult psychiatrist to join the inpatient behavioral health team at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois.

This position offers a day shift in an expanding program with 48 inpatient beds and strong interdisciplinary support. Epic EHR is used throughout the system, and there are opportunities for clinical quality initiatives and program development.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board eligible or board certified in Psychiatry.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Illinois.
• Eligible for medical staff appointment at Northwestern Medicine.
• Current or eligible DEA registration.
• Strong clinical judgment and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adults in inpatient care.
• Lead daily interdisciplinary treatment-planning rounds.
• Develop and oversee individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Provide psychopharmacologic management, risk assessment, crisis stabilization, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with nursing, social work, therapy, pharmacy, and other services.
• Coordinate safe transitions of care with various inpatient/outpatient services.
• Participate in initiatives focusing on patient safety and quality.
• Contribute to a respectful, collaborative team culture.
