Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Works is hiring Team Members to join our fast-paced kitchen and sandwich shop in Bloomington, IL. You will help open the shop, prep food, and serve customers while delivering the friendly Potbelly energy.

We offer competitive pay in the $15.25–$15.75 per hour range plus digital tips, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, paid parental leave, 401(k) with company match, flexible scheduling, and many other benefits. Availability within 8am–4pm is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16
• Friendly, customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• able to work in a bustling kitchen; knife skills are a plus
• Must manage allergens (peanuts, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish)
• Team player; able to stand/walk 3 hours; lift up to 50 lbs
• IL applicants must obtain food safety certification within 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager
• Comply with health and safety standards for food and cleanliness
• Restock food line and supplies
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream
• Operate cash register and handle cash procedures
• Assist customers and handle complaints professionally
• Take delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone
• Other duties as assigned
