Job summary

The Jackson Area Transportation Authority is seeking a Daytime Utility employee under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to keep JATA facilities, especially the Transfer Center, clean, safe and presentable. Responsibilities include daily janitorial work, outdoor upkeep, seasonal tasks such as mowing, snow removal and salting, minor repairs, event support, and maintaining logs.

A high school diploma is required; at least one year of janitorial or maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of janitorial or maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid Michigan Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a D.O.T. physical and drug screening.
• Ability to complete reports and maintain cleaning logs.

Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms and public areas.
• Sweep and mop floors, empty trash, maintain windows and passenger shelters.
• Keep grounds tidy year-round.
• Seasonal duties: mowing, snow removal and salting sidewalks.
• Support minor repairs, maintain supply rooms and assist with event setup.
