Job summary

CARAVAN FACILITIES MANAGEMENT LLC in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring for a Day Janitor in a full-time role. The position covers cleaning and upkeep of building interiors and common areas, with duties including sweeping, mopping, polishing, dusting, and restroom maintenance, following safety guidelines.

You will join the Operations department as part of the janitorial team, report to the Janitorial Supervisor, and contribute to a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork.
• Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Cuts and trims grass, and shovels snow if required in contract for site.
• Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
• May set up tables and chairs in auditorium or hall.
