Job summary

Kutztown University is seeking a custodian for an emergency essential position. The role involves cleaning tasks with custodial supplies and modern equipment, and may require moving heavy furniture. The work follows a set routine and is subject to inspection for cleanliness standards.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00–15:00, totaling 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will have basic reading/writing skills, ability to follow instructions, and reliable work history.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand written materials.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• No previous experience or training required.
• Minimum of one year cleaning or manual labor experience.
• Stable employment history—a minimum of one year with the same employer.
• One year of work experience that includes cleaning in an institutional environment.
• One year of work experience related to floor care including carpet cleaning, scrubbing/waxing, and stripping and waxing.
• Successful interview, reference checks, background clearances, and demonstration of ability.
