Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc is hiring a Barista in our Coffee Shop to greet customers, take orders, prepare beverages, and keep the shop stocked and clean. You’ll work in a fast-paced, friendly environment, building rapport with customers and teammates.

Ideal candidates have customer service experience, good communication, and basic math skills for handling simple transactions. Some experience in food service is preferred, and a daytime shift is available.

Qualifications

• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, learning their names, and going the extra mile to make every visit a positive one.
• Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, and assist with finding products and answering questions.
• Prepare and replenish coffee shop products as needed throughout your shift.
• Monitor product freshness and appearance and follow or develop a production list to stay ahead of daily needs.
• Handle food safely and keep the work area clean, neat, and up to department standards at all times.
