Job summary

Rosenboom Machine & Tool in Sheldon, IA is seeking a hands-on Controls Technician to support and maintain automation and control systems across our manufacturing operations. You'll troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and work to improve equipment performance through automation.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in Automation or related field and 1–3 years of controls or maintenance experience, plus experience reading schematics and programming PLCs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Automation, Instrumentation, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of controls, automation, or maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automation, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Modify and support control systems and production equipment.
• Install, program, and maintain PLC systems and automation equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and layouts.
• Perform root-cause analysis and resolve equipment performance issues.
