The Longmeadow Parks & Recreation Department is seeking Daycare Teacher Aide Substitutes for the Greenwood Children’s Center. The position is responsible for providing personal care and hygiene of children, assisting with implementing activities, and monitoring children while the lead teacher performs other activities.

Successful candidate must have:

  • Knowledge of relevant early childhood education practices and regulations related to essential functions.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage conflict. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain good public relations and to respond in a courteous and professional manner with an emphasis on children, parents, caretakers, and legal guardians. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and customer service skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, and 1 year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience.
  • The following are preconditions of employment: CORI/background check, maintenance of EEC Professional Qualification Registry, and First Aid/CPR certification.
