Position: Lead Teacher at The Primrose School of Hillsborough, Hillsborough NJ

As a Lead Teacher, you will help young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to plan and implement activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach.

Primrose School of Hillsborough is an accredited private preschool offering year-round programs for children from infants through elementary age, providing a premier educational childcare experience.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise and manage daily class functions of a group of children.
  2. Follow all rules and regulations related to health, safety, and care of children, including those from local, state, or national agencies.
  3. Assess each child's developmental needs regularly.
  4. Implement approved lesson plans and daily schedules in line with the Primrose curriculum.
  5. Coordinate parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with leadership.
  6. Maintain an attractive, engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and decision-making.
  7. Provide positive recognition and set clear behavioral expectations.
  8. Handle classroom maintenance and housekeeping duties.
  9. Attend staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
  10. Maintain professional appearance as per the Employee Handbook.
  11. Assist in other duties as determined by the Director or designee.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Meet the basic requirements of local childcare regulations.
  • Previous experience in a licensed early childhood program.
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., especially for handling children and emergency situations. For Infant and Toddler teachers, ability to lift infants into and out of cribs.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience supervising or teaching children aged 18 months to 3 years in a licensed childcare setting.
