Job summary

Job Juncture in Birmingham, AL seeks a Daycare-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support infants and young children under supervision of an OTR. You’ll contribute to fine motor, sensory, and self-care skill development in a preschool setting.

The role emphasizes collaboration with daycare staff, family engagement, and ongoing progress documentation. Eligible candidates must hold or be eligible for the COTA license in Alabama and NBCOT certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program.
• Active COTA license from the Alabama State Board of Occupational Therapy or eligibility.
• NBCOT certification and Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience with infants, toddlers, or early childhood pediatric populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Therapy Delivery: Implement targeted occupational therapy interventions to support toddlers' and preschoolers' developmental goals.
• Classroom & Play Integration: Build functional skills through play, including fine motor grasp and self-help tasks.
• Collaboration & Support: Work with lead daycare teachers and staff to implement sensory breaks and accommodations.
• Progress Tracking & Reporting: Document child progress and logs under OTR guidance for team updates.
• Equipment & Environmental Setup: Assist with adaptive seating and assistive play devices.
