Job summary

Chaska Daycare is seeking a caring Daycare Assistant to provide daily care for infants through school-age children in a warm, clean, and safe environment. You will feed, read, and engage children in age-appropriate activities, maintain hygiene, and communicate with parents on their child’s wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old and CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to complete within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with children under six years old preferred.
• Adhere to childcare protocols and health/safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for registered children (infant - school age) including feeding, interacting, reading, and age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment; ensure handwashing and sick child protocols are followed; sanitize toys and clean facilities after shifts.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding children’s wellbeing and concerns with supervisor.
• Document concerns or issues with a child’s wellbeing and follow up with supervisor.
• Follow childcare policies, procedures, laws, and regulations as applicable.
• Assist with Active-Net transactions and input data in Excel.
• Support special events (Parents Night Out, Castle Cleaning) as needed.
• Perform other related duties as requested.

Job description

The Daycare Assistant provides daily care of children (infant - school age) in a nurturing, clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

1. Responsible for the care of registered children, including feeding, interacting, reading, and engaging in age-appropriate activities.


2. Maintains a clean and safe environment, ensures handwashing and sick child protocols are followed, toys and furniture are sanitized, and bathroom facilities are cleaned after each shift.


3. Ensures responsive communication with parents/guardians in all aspects of their children’s well-being.


4. Documents any concerns or issues with a child’s wellbeing and communicates to supervisor.


5. Adheres to all childcare policies and procedures, laws and regulations as applicable.


6. Executes Active-Net transactions and inputs and maintains accurate data in Excel.


7. Assists with special events (Parents Night Out, Castle Cleaning, etc.) as needed.


8. Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of age


• American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to complete certification within 30 days of hire


• Experience working with children under six years old preferred
