Job Summary:

This position ensures supervision and safety of residents and the facility. Under the direction of a mental health professional, the practitioner provides direct supportive services (mental health and chemical health) and emergency intervention when needed. Responsibilities include resident education on mental health issues, crisis assessments, screenings, coping skill education, modeling, and supporting residents' daily living activities. Professional documentation and communication with relevant professionals are also required.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond immediately to emergencies following established policies.
  • Monitor activities and conduct room checks.
  • Facilitate interventions and educational lessons using approved curricula.
  • Provide a supportive, strengths-based environment.
  • Assist with daily facility functions, documentation, admissions, discharges, and record keeping.
  • Prompt residents in daily living skills and organize activities.
  • Supervise medication administration for compliance and safety.
  • Support program operations including meal setup, transportation, and cleaning.
  • Engage in professional development activities.
  • Provide on-call coverage.
Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Empathy, interpersonal understanding, and integrity.
  • Clinical judgment and confidentiality management.
  • Must pass background checks.
  • Meet DHS standards for Mental Health Practitioners, including relevant coursework or work experience.

Work Environment:

Primarily in a residential facility, supervising residents and engaging in community activities and outdoor supervision.
