Job summary

Sysco Illinois is seeking a warehouse associate to hand-build pallets and load trailers per standards. Pay starts at $22.00 per hour, with a freezer incentive, on a Sunday–Friday day shift schedule. Four 10-hour shifts with two weekdays off, plus opportunities under the company's incentive plan.

Responsibilities include reading pick sheets, selecting products, labeling and loading pallets, maintaining safety, and using forklifts and pallet jacks. Training provided; strong attendance required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of safe lifting procedures and food safety guidelines.
• Willingness to operate forklifts and pallet jacks as needed.
• Capable of building pallets quickly, accurately and safely.

Responsibilities

• Read pick sheets and travel to warehouse locations using a pallet jack.
• PICK proper product type and quantity, label products and place on pallets for loading.
• Handle products per food safety procedures and minimize damage.
• Maintain a clean and safe warehouse; report spills or damages.
• Communicate issues to management; operate warehouse equipment safely.
• Complete paperwork and track time using wearable computer devices.
• Maintain attendance and work overtime as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
