Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City is seeking an entry-level warehouse associate to receive, stock, pick, and ship goods, supporting logistics for church operations.

You will operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, maintain accurate inventory, and assist with shipping documents in a fast-paced environment. This role emphasizes safety and teamwork, with on-the-job training and opportunities to grow within the warehouse team.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent with basic math and computer skills.
• Preference will be given to those with previous warehousing, material handling, or related work experience.
• Must be able to become Church certified within 6 weeks of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be able to read and understand English.
• If driving required, a valid operator's license is required that is appropriate for the vehicle(s) to be driven.
• Must be able to physically lift/move/push/pull items (up to 50 lbs. alone or occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. with two people), climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps to store/retrieve items, and operate a pallet jack containing up to 2,500 lbs.
• Must be willing to attend training in the first year of employment to better understand lean and continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Performs general material handling/warehousing duties involving receiving, storing, inventorying, shipping, and disbursing materials/commodities.
• Picks orders and prepares pallets for shipment.
• Processes materials using postal manifest and meter equipment.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Reviews and interprets shipping documents, verifies quantities, inspects for damage, determines country of origin and specific language code for international materials, and prepares receiving and inventory records.
• Records weight and dimension figures on all new items for warehouse management system.
