Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities

• Obtaining patient history
• Assisting during emergency/critical care situations
• Recording notes and vitals on Smartflow
• Assisting the doctor on duty during the physical exam
• Aiding in animal restraint
• Collecting specimens for lab testing
• Running lab tests as directed by doctor on duty
• Invoicing patient procedures and appointments (out‑patient)
• Filling/re‑filling patient prescriptions as directed by doctor on duty
• Cleaning exam rooms following every exam
• Creating accession forms for labs to be sent out
• Maintaining steady laundry flow
• Maintaining a clean pharmacy area
• Presenting treatment plans to clients (estimates)
• Processing/Autoclaving surgery instruments as necessary
• Processing payments/deposits
• Walking, feeding, and medicating boarders
• Checking in and putting away inventory orders

Technician Appointments

• Triage Assistants will also see technician appointments during 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for laser therapy, anal gland expressions, nail trims, suture removals, and any other appointments that do not require an exam by the doctor on duty.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Flexible schedule, preferably a minimum of one year industry related experience
• Minimum high‑school diploma
• Availability for 8 p.m.–8 a.m. shifts, three days a week; open to varying shift times including 24/7 coverage
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
• Experience within the veterinary industry or a similar field preferred
• Full‑time or part‑time positions available
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays
