Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Summit in Charleston, WV is seeking a Full-Time Driver to transport donations and retail goods. The role requires a valid Class D driver's license, a current DOT medical card, and a clean driving record.

The position involves day shifts, local deliveries to stores, and periodic travel. You will maintain truck logs, prepare receipts, inspect equipment, and coordinate with supervisors to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
• Valid Class D driver’s license with a good driving record and current DOT medical card.
• Must be 21 years of age or older. Desirable logistics/warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck with capacity over 3 tons to transport donations and goods to stores.
• Prepare receipts for donations and verify loads against shipping papers.
• Maintain truck logs per state and federal regulations and inspect truck equipment daily.
• Load, unload, and deliver goods in a timely manner; communicate delivery instructions to supervisor.

Job Description

• Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.
• Drives truck to destination.
• Prepares receipts for donations picked up.
• Verifies load against shipping papers for stores.
• Completes retail sales order for goods delivered to stores.
• Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
• Loads and unloads truck and delivers goods in a timely manner.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water, cleanliness, and completes report daily.
• Work in an efficient manner to complete all tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Class D driver's license, good driving record, commercial driving experience, and current DOT medical card required.
• Must be 21 years or age or older.
• Experience in logistics, warehouse management, preferred.

Additional Information

• Rate of pay is $16 to $18 per hour.
• Full-time, day shift position.
