Job summary

BSA Health System in Amarillo, TX is seeking a day-shift, full-time Surgical Technologist (CST) to support operating room teams during invasive procedures.

The CST will work under surgeons and RNs to maintain a sterile field, assist with instrumentation, and ensure patient safety. Required: CAAHEP-accredited program, CST certification, and BLS within 14 days of hire; prior theatre experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
• Must hold and maintain certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the NBSTSA or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• The CST works under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
• The CST ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and monitors maintenance of the sterile field.
• The role ensures the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and the procedure is conducted to maximize patient safety.
