Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I to receive, decontaminate, and sterilize reusable patient care equipment. The role requires a High School diploma and plans to become certified within 12 months, with on-the-job training offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must become registered within twelve months from start to become certified.
• If transferring between Sterile Processing and Endoscopy, must be certified within twelve months.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, assembles and sterilizes reusable patient care equipment.
• Operates sterilization and decontamination equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspects, assembles and sterilizes surgical and house instrumentation.
• Restocks case carts and supplies according to daily pickup lists.
• Maintains required sterilization records under supervision.
