Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a licensed RN to coordinate patient care using the nursing process within the Parkland nursing practice model. The nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, guiding the health care team through the encounter to prevent delays or complications.

The role requires two years of nursing experience, a current Texas RN license or Compact license, and BLS certification from AHA/ARC/MTN. Day shift, full-time position in Dallas, TX.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Must hold a current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing, or a valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from one of: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Military Training Network.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a patient advocate, focusing on patient needs, rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines affecting nursing practice and ensures compliance.
• Completes patient assessments, identifies interventions, conducts discharge planning and documents promptly and accurately.
• Provides direction to non-nursing staff as needed and may act as a preceptor or Charge Nurse on rotation.
• Keeps abreast of nursing practice developments and maintains Texas RN licensure.
