Job summary

Securitas US Business Unit is seeking a Full-Time Day Shift Security Officer in Burlington, Vermont. The role focuses on safeguarding people, property, and assets with a visible security presence and prompt incident response.

Starting pay is $21.25 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule (0800–1700, 45 hours/week). No prior security experience is required; growth opportunities and strong customer-service requirements are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Excellent observational and de-escalation skills; ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong communicator, capable of working with global and local security teams.
• Intermediate computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Surveillance: Monitor security cameras and patrol assigned premises for suspicious activity and safety hazards.
• Access Control: Check identifications, issue visitor passes, and restrict access to authorized personnel.
• Emergency Response: Respond to alarms, emergencies, or security incidents and report to authorities as needed.
• Incident Reporting: Document incidents clearly and report for action or investigation.
• Patrolling: Conduct foot or vehicle patrols of entrances, parking lots, and perimeters.
• Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors and employees with directions and inquiries.
• Safety Inspections: Inspect premises for safety hazards and fire risks.
• Conflict Resolution: Resolve minor disputes to maintain a calm environment.
• Collaboration: Work with other security staff and emergency responders.
