Job summary

Maschio's Food Service Inc. is seeking Food Service Workers for school sites in New Jersey, with Monday–Friday day shifts, no weekends or holidays. You will help prepare and serve meals to large student populations while upholding high sanitation standards.

Ideal candidates have experience in school cafeteria operations, knowledge of food safety, and strong teamwork and customer service skills. You must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in school cafeteria or institutional food service.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Food Handler's permit or ServSafe Certification preferred if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in accordance with guidelines and portion standards.
• Assist with daily food prep, including chopping, cooking, baking, and assembling meals.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, slicers, dishwashers, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving lines, storage areas and dining spaces.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations (HACCP standards).
• Stocking, rotating food supplies, and minimizing waste.
• Provide friendly, patient service to students of all ages.
• Accommodate special needs and allergy restrictions as required.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and securing equipment.
