Job summary

Magen David Yeshivah is seeking qualified full-time kitchen staff for the day shift in New York. You will perform general cleaning, assist staff and visitors, handle food prep tasks, and maintain cleanliness and service standards throughout the day.

Responsibilities include receiving orders, processing payments, and ensuring safe, orderly operations. The role requires physical ability to lift 15–25 pounds and to work in variable weather as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience is generally required.
• Ability to follow detailed, uninvolved instructions.
• Ability to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing from 15 to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.

Responsibilities

• Receives orders from Supervisor.
• Providing excellent customer service
• Processing orders quickly and accurately
• Maintaining cleanliness and service standards daily
• Process orders and enter them accurately into the system
• Receive payment from the customer and process change
• Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day
• Clean equipment and utensils, removes trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean.
• Performs work according to standard procedure and by building's operational schedule.
• Cleaning dishes, some cooking
• Other duties as assigned
• Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
