The position supports safe delivery of prescribed radiation doses, patient positioning, and coordination with physicians and dosimetrists, with emphasis on equipment maintenance and accurate record-keeping in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire or transfer date required.
• Radiation Therapist credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained prior to hire date or transfer date required.
• Radiation Therapist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or transfer date required.

Responsibilities

• Safely administer radiation therapy by delivering prescribed doses to specific patient areas.
• Prepare and accurately position patients, collaborating with physicians and dosimetrists to execute treatment plans.
• Maintain and calibrate technical equipment, including linear accelerators, to ensure operational accuracy.
• Maintain detailed session records and ensure prompt, high-quality submission of all images and data to PACS.
• Enforce regulatory standards and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department environment.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience
