Job summary

Inova Health in Virginia is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 to join the Vascular Surgery team. This full-time daylight position runs Monday through Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with responsibilities across referrals, medication administration, and care coordination.

The ideal candidate holds a Vocational/Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing, Virginia LPN license, 2 years of hospital or clinic experience, and BLS certification. Inova offers strong benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Vocational / Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing.
• License: Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Experience: 2 years of nursing practice in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates referrals for patient chronic care conditions and follow up care as indicated by the initial care plan of the specialist and/or primary care physician.
• Administers prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies and treatments following practical nursing standards and under the direct supervision of the physician.
• Effectively communicates with healthcare team members, patients and families; Supports healthcare team members to achieve team goals and assigns appropriate tasks to care assistants.
• Maintains and reviews patient medical records, notes and physician orders; Documents all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities.
