Job summary

Michiana Behavioral Health, part of Universal Health Services, in Plymouth, Indiana, seeks a Mental Health Technician for the day shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.). The role provides active patient care, supervision and modeling to patients within a therapeutic environment.

You will work with a treating team, support daily living activities, and help maintain safety standards while supporting patients’ health and recovery goals.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent; college degree a plus.
• Passion for children, adolescents, and adults with mental health/addiction disorders.
• Experience with children/adolescents a plus.
• Hours: 40 hours/week, day shift 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.; rotating weekends.
• May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Orient patient to unit and program.
• Carry out teaching activities identified in the treatment plan under supervision of the nurse in charge.
• Provide continuous patient care and assist patients in all areas.
• Establish and maintain therapeutic boundaries complying with established training program.
• Demonstrate responsibility for observation of patients at all times.
• Assist patient with activities of daily living.
• Practice universal precautions and environment safety guidelines.
