Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Wallingford, CT is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM in the Stat Lab (Generalist). You will perform moderate to high complexity testing and troubleshoot instruments, with responsibility for quality control and timely reporting of results.

The role requires 1 year of full-time clinical lab experience with preferred 3 years in the current department, and a BS/BA in Medical Technology or related field.

Qualifications

• One (1) year full-time experience or training (high complexity testing) in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience with most current year in present department.

Responsibilities

• Must demonstrate proficiency in all areas of testing and be proficient troubleshooting all applicable instruments/procedures in the department.
• Provide support to the department in quality control, troubleshooting complex problems, customer support, instrument maintenance, staff training, and process improvement.
• Perform and report on assigned analytical tests in accordance with SOPs and ensure quality control requirements are met.
• Adhere to laboratory policies for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting and record keeping.
• Enter test results into the Laboratory Information System for standardized reporting to physicians.
