Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting program.
• BLS certification through the AHA or Red Cross - if not held, must obtain during new hire period.
• Military healthcare training (HM/68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
• Completion of clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
• Preferred CMA/NCMA/CCMA certification.
• Preferred completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with rooming patients and processing in-baskets, administrative tasks and more.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition as part of the care team.
• Administer specific medications under the direction of the provider.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
• Perform administrative/clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.

Education

Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting program

BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Military healthcare training (HM/68W or 4N0X1) will be considered

Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience

CMA/NCMA/CCMA certification preferred

Completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship preferred
