Job summary

AVIVA Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Technician to care for the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The role requires coordinating with nursing services for routine tasks in resident areas and performing scheduled preventive maintenance.

The incumbent will handle repairs, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and light electrical work, while ensuring equipment is clean, stored, and inventory is stocked.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ experience as a building trade helper, apprentice or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs, refurbishing projects, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, plumbing, light electrical, demolition, and furniture/equipment moves.
• Maintain facility grounds and ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Coordinate daily maintenance with nursing services during routine resident living area work.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and tasks as scheduled.
• Ensure maintenance supplies are replenished in work areas as needed.
• Keep facility and equipment in good condition for resident comfort and convenience.
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor promptly.
• Clean and store equipment properly at end of shift.
• Assist with safety inspections, tests, and drills as requested.
