Job summary

JPS Health Network seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse II for Correctional Health (Days) in Fort Worth. You will provide comprehensive nursing care under supervision, delivering patient-centered services within a correctional health setting.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, patient education, and teamwork with leaders and licensed staff to ensure quality outcomes. This is a full-time, daytime position at the John Peter Smith Hospital system.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Vocational Nursing.
• Current Texas vocational nursing licensure. Maintain licensure throughout employment.
• Current JPS BLS certification and maintain.
• ACLS within 3 months of hire (ED/CCU only).
• ECG (EKG) within 90 days of hire and maintained (ED/CCU only).
• PALS within 90 days of hire (ED).
• NRP within 6 weeks of employment (Inpatient Women’s Services).
• Education/training in Non-Violent Crisis De-escalation within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers total nursing care under provider orders.
• Record and monitor vital signs and medical information.
• Monitor symptoms and changes in patient conditions.
• Conduct specified laboratory tests.
• Maintain accurate detailed reports.
• Complete documentation to meet regulatory standards.
• Provide patient education addressing knowledge gaps.
• Precept LVNs and non-licensed staff as directed.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to all duties as assigned.
