Job summary

gpac is seeking a Day Shift Electrical Technician for a premier, specialty-food manufacturer. You will own electrical maintenance, troubleshoot 480V systems, PLCs, and robotics, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience and a NJ electrical credential is a plus. Work hours are day shift on weekdays with occasional overtime. Competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience (food/beverage or automated high-speed processing preferred).
• Troubleshoot 480V power systems, VFDs, motor controls, and PLCs independently.
• Credentials: New Jersey electrical license, journeyman card, or apprentice registration is a plus (not required).
• 6:00 AM start with occasional overtime coverage when plant needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair 480V 3-phase electrical equipment, motor controls, VFDs, and servo systems.
• Diagnose PLC I/O, ladder logic, and HMI faults using Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
• Perform root-cause troubleshooting on robotics (ABB, Fanuc), instrumentation, sensors, and machine-safety circuits.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, trace electrical schematics, update drawings, and identify critical spare parts.
• Support capital equipment projects, contractor activities, and continuous process improvements.
