Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and automation equipment that support continuous production operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong industrial electrical experience, expertise with PLCs and automation systems, and a commitment to safety, reliability, and quality.

Schedule: This position may require up to six (6) days of work per week based on business needs and operational demands.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Installation & Maintenance
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including wiring, conduit, panels, motors, and control systems.
  • Install and configure electrical components for new and existing production lines.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they impact production.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs meet applicable safety and regulatory standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Repair or replace faulty components including wiring, relays, switches, contactors, and circuit breakers.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to resolve complex equipment issues.
  • Implement corrective actions and long-term solutions to improve equipment reliability.
Control Systems & Automation
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Diagnose and repair Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and related automation systems.
  • Support automated production equipment and continuous improvement initiatives.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and parts inventory documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Assist in developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities.
Safety & Training
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct safety inspections and identify potential electrical hazards.
  • Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel regarding electrical systems and equipment.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship, technical training program, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrical Technician.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, power distribution, and control circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing PLC systems.
Preferred
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology or related field.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or regulated production environment.
  • Experience working with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or other industrial PLC platforms.
