Job summary

Alta is seeking a Forklift Field Service Technician / Mechanic to support customers in Queens. This full-time role is first shift, Monday through Friday, and paid hourly with no flat rate.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repair diagnostics, and delivering excellent service while managing workloads independently. Company uniforms are provided and training is available to advance diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• Prior mechanic repair experience on forklifts, heavy equipment, or similar machinery.
• Know-how with electric and liquid propane units and safe operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Must own a complete set of tools for field service.
• Ability to read safety rules, manuals and write routine reports.
• Basic math for money, weights, and measurements.
• Intermediate reasoning to handle standard problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on customer forklifts and material handling gear.
• Diagnose and repair various forms of equipment in the field.
• Complete repairs timely and professionally with documentation.
• Deliver strong customer service and independent workload management.
• Adhere to company procedures and safety rules.
