Job summary

Alta Equipment Group's Material Handling Group is seeking a full-time Forklift Field Service Technician/Mechanic at our East Syracuse, NY branch. This first-shift role, Monday through Friday, is hourly (no flat rate) and includes a company service van, fuel card, and access to in-house paid training to advance diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair customer forklifts and related equipment, and manage paperwork and inventory.

Qualifications

Two years of forklift repair experience preferred, incl. MOS/NEC codes 63B/63H/63S/63W/63Y/91B/91H/91L/91M.
Field experience is highly preferable.
Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units.
Excellent mechanical aptitude; own tools.
Must have clean driving record and valid driver's license.
Familiarity with HYPASS, TKC training software and contact management systems.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment.
Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Work and manage workloads independently.
Proper completion and submission of all required paperwork.
Field technicians are responsible for company vehicle and on-board parts inventory.
Incorporate Alta's guiding principles into daily activities.
