Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Food Service Assistant at our Millard Center in Omaha, NE. This full-time role involves daily 8-hour day shifts, maintaining clean serving areas, preparing and serving foods, and handling payments with a computerized register.

The position requires basic math, reading/writing, customer service experience, and willingness to learn. Serv Safe and BLS may be required depending on location. Benefits and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16.
• Previous customer service experience and money handling preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow directions.
• Basic math skills required.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Serv Safe may be required depending on location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record proper food temperatures.
• Set up and maintain a clean, sanitized serving area.
• Prepare and serve food items and restock food areas.
• Operate cash registers and process payments using a computerized system.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure food safety and sanitation.
• Provide outstanding customer service and communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers.
