Job summary

The State of Minnesota's Department of Corrections invites applications for a Custodian (General Maintenance Worker) at MCF-Rush City to maintain a clean, safe environment.

You will perform housekeeping, janitorial, and light maintenance, manage inventories, operate cleaning equipment, and follow security procedures daily.

Work is on a day shift (6:00am–2:30pm), Monday through Friday, in Rush City, with no telework; benefits include competitive pay and state employment protections.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning methods and floor maintenance to determine proper maintenance and cleaning methods.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions and perform tasks with limited supervision.
• Ability to keep simple records and document basic information.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping, janitorial, and light maintenance tasks to keep areas clean and secure.
• Manage janitorial inventories and operate mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Safely handle commercial cleaning products and follow safety protocols at all times.
• Support facility security and comply with DOC policies during daily operations.
