Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ seeks a full-time day shift Certified Surgical Technician to support the sterile field and surgical teams. The role requires CST or NCC certification, and ongoing education plus timely BLS certification after hire.

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCC.
Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role.

Responsibilities

The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
Performs scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
Ensures that the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for that surgeon and procedure.
Assists with circulating duties under direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
Ensures adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.

Education

High School or GED

Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCC

BLS certification
