Job summary

Gordon Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time cook to prepare meals for residents according to dietician plans. You will operate standard kitchen equipment and ensure meals are prepared and served on time in a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities include prepping daily menus, maintaining sanitation, and assisting with tray line service. High school diploma preferred; experience with elderly dietary needs is a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic communication demonstrated in safety-focused environment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Able to follow written instructions and menus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals according to dietician-created menus.
• Operates kitchen equipment (mixer, slicer, oven, steamer).
• Maintains cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Ensures meals are prepared in large quantities for elderly residents.
• Follows infection control policies and sanitation standards.
• Records temperatures of freezers and refrigerators.
• Assists with tray line setup and service.
• Records diet orders and substitutions as required.
