Responsibilities

• Identify each resident's uniqueness and adapt care under Nursing Unit Supervisor.
• Build respectful relationships with residents and families.
• Observe and report changes in residents' status to nursing staff.
• Communicate effectively with residents, addressing barriers due to language, vision, or hearing.
• Promote independence within residents' abilities and encourage self-care.
• Report to next shift and receive prior shift information on relevant units.
• Work cooperatively as a team and with other departments.
• Follow fire drill procedures and safety protocols.
• Apply proper body mechanics during transfers and lifts; use gait belt.
• Document use of mechanical supports and restraints per policies.
• Support nutrition and hydration; monitor intake/output.
• Follow infection control practices and universal precautions.
