Job summary

Sentara Medical Group is seeking a full-time Clinical Lab Assistant in Virginia Beach, VA. You will perform phlebotomy, collect and process specimens, conduct routine tests such as urinalysis, and assist with patient care activities.

The role requires evening/occasional early start shifts and involves data entry and equipment maintenance. Applicants should have High School graduation, experience in lab or outpatient settings, and BLS certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent is required.
• Experience performing Phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, specimen collection and processing is preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in physician practices, outpatient clinics, or laboratory settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient phlebotomy and collect/process specimens for testing.
• Register and enter test data; monitor supply levels.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; assist with patient care activities.
• May perform EKG and glucose meter; bedside work as needed.
