Job summary

Children’s of Alabama is seeking a dedicated healthcare assistant to join the Hematology and Oncology outpatient clinic. The role involves assisting patients, communicating with families, and supporting the care team during day shifts from 8:00 to 4:30, Monday through Friday.

Candidates should have at least 6 months of recent patient care experience or be enrolled in a clinical medical program. CNA/CMA/PCT/EMT certifications and a High School Diploma are essential, with BLS required.

Qualifications

• Six months of patient care experience within the last two years.
• Enrolled in a medical related college program and in clinical rotation.
• CNA, CMA, PCT or EMT certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistive care and communication for patients and their families in outpatient specialty clinics.
• Supports clinic team members, professional and technical staff, and visitors.
• Contributes to safe, age-appropriate care and helps ensure efficient clinic operations.
