Job summary

Northwest Iowa Community College is seeking a CAD/CAM Programmer to join our press brake team. This role focuses on setting up, programming, operating, and troubleshooting an automated press brake cell as we expand automation.

You'll read engineering drawings, draft parts in CAD/SolidWorks, determine bending sequences, and ensure part quality. This hands-on position offers growth with new equipment and a chance to shape manufacturing processes as automation capabilities grow.

Qualifications

Experience setting up and operating press brakes or similar equipment.
Ability to read mechanical drawings.
Experience with CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and an interest in automation and manufacturing technology.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot press brake equipment to produce quality parts.
Work with an automated press brake cell, including setup, programming, operation, and process improvement.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and shop documentation.
Use CAD/SolidWorks to draft, modify, and develop parts and bend-related designs.
Help determine efficient bending sequences, tooling, and setups.
Inspect finished parts and make adjustments to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
Assist with troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and production issues.
