Job summary

ContiTech in Valparaiso, Indiana, is seeking an Assembly Tech 1 or 2 to join its manufacturing team. You will perform machine assembly and provide general assembly support, ensuring safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost targets while following standard work and work instructions.

The role requires basic mechanical skills, the ability to read documents, lift up to 25 lbs, and readiness to work an 8-hour shift on the 7:00am–3:00pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required; we will not sponsor visas.
• No relocation sponsorship for this opportunity.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Basic assembly skills using hand tools (wrench, screwdriver, hammer, drill) and basic measurement with a tape measure.
• Basic mechanical experience.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine assembly and other assembly support functions.
• Support critical manufacturing areas in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Meet specifications and follow quality system requirements (work instructions, standard work, auditing).
• Use basic problem-solving skills.
• Participate as an active member of the production team and fill in where needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
• Other duties as assigned.
