Job summary

New Horizons is seeking a Day Program Support employee to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their goals in the Life Skills Day Program. You will support individuals with activities of daily living, transportation to community resources, and skill-building in a compassionate, patient manner.

Ideal candidates have strong communication and interpersonal skills, reliable time management, and the ability to follow instruction and maintain safety.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age or older
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Driver’s License
• First Aid/CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach individual goals.
• Provide instruction in activities of daily living and personal care as needed.

Day Program Support -- Life Skills

New Horizons is looking for a Day Program Support employee to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their individual goals. A Day Program Support employee will work with the individual(s), providing instruction in activities of daily living, transporting to and from community resources and events, teaching new skills, and assisting with personal care needs while the individual(s) attends the Life Skills Day Program.

A successful Day Program Support employee will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive relationship with the individual(s) they support. The Day Program Support employee will need to utilize problem solving, time management, and organizational skills while working with the individual(s) they support.

Day Program Support employees make a positive difference in the life of the individual(s) they support.

Job Qualifications

• Eighteen (18) Years of Age or older
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Driver’s License
• Complete required training including First Aid/CPR certification

Additional Information

• Drug Test required
• Background report and driving record required
• TB test required

Hours and Location

Typical Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am - 3 pm
