Job summary

Arc of Greater New Haven, Inc. in North Haven, CT, is seeking a Day Program Specialist / Direct Support Professional to assist adults with IDD in daily activities and community outings. Part-time, Monday–Friday, 8:45 am–2:45 pm, with no nights or weekends.

You’ll help individuals learn, connect, explore, and grow, document progress, and work with a caring team to ensure safety and dignity in all tasks; CPR/First Aid training provided if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Valid Connecticut driver's license with clean record.
• Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, and Medication Administration certs.
• Able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
• Comfort with using computers and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily routines, meals, personal care, and mobility.
• Support adults with IDD in community outings and activities.
• Drive agency vehicles and ensure participant safety.

• Keeping everyone safe, including driving participants in agency vehicles and responding calmly when situations arise
• Documenting progress using our agency systems
