Job summary

communitasinc is seeking a dedicated Day Program Lead Skills Instructor in Wakefield, MA. The role involves leading curriculum development for classroom and community-based teaching, guiding individuals toward personal goals and community inclusion.

You will support plan development, assessments, team participation, and supervise other instructors while providing personal care as needed. A background in human services and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record are required.
• Must pass company background and reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development and direct implementation of curriculum for classroom and community settings.
• Develop and implement Individual Support Plans, write annual assessments and goals, attend team meetings.
• Create community-based activities that promote personal choice, inclusion, dignity and respect, and support personal skill development.
• Provide support and guidance to Skills Instructors.
• Provide personal care and assistance to individuals to help them reach goals.

Day Program Lead Skills Instructor

Location: Wakefield, MA

Pay rate: $21.00 per hour

Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday (8am-4pm)

Summary & Responsibilities

• Participating in the development and direct implementation of curriculum to teach groups in both a classroom setting and out in the community.
• Participating in the development and implementation of the Individual Support Plan, writing annual assessments and goals, and attending team meetings as scheduled.
• Developing and implementing community-based activities that promote personal choice, community inclusion, dignity, and respect while enhancing personal skill development.
• Providing support and guidance to Skills Instructors.
• Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with individual needs as they strive to reach their goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required (BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred)
• At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred
• A passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
