Job summary

Marrakech, Inc. in West Haven, CT seeks a direct care staff member to support individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in our Day Program.

You will implement behavior plans, assist with habilitation and vocational activities, and promote safe, inclusive community participation. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 3–6 months of related experience or training; basic computer skills; and CT driver’s license with possible certifications (CPR/First Aid, PMT).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–6 months related experience and/or training, or human service training certificate.
• Experience using basic computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in daily activities including daily hygiene functions.
• Implement behavioral goals and teaching strategies; monitor procedures and exercise programs.
• Assist in completion of individual assessments.
• Supervise and assist in food preparation following special diets.
• Provide active treatment and model positive adult community roles.
• Foster community belonging through person-centered activities.
• Provide meaningful community experiences to individuals.
• Maintain required supervision level in the community.
• Document case notes, logs, reports and other required documentation.
