Community Options, Inc. is hiring a Full-Time Day Program Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Philadelphia, PA. The CIC supports individuals with learning physical, intellectual, emotional, and social life skills, providing individualized services in the community.

A vehicle is required, and starting pay is $17.50 per hour. The role involves promoting independence, meeting participants where they live or in the community, documenting progress, and coordinating activities while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
• Background checks, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to increase independence and ability to be as independent as possible.
• Meet waiver participants in residence, community, or office settings.
• Provide ongoing support for community integration efforts.
• Document progress toward community integration.
• Build a support network between the individual and the community.
• Administer medications and ensure proper completion of documentation.
• Coordinate leisure and volunteer opportunities.
• Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns; accompany to medical appointments.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states. We are now hiring a Full-Time Day Program DSP in Philadelphia, PA. The Community Integration Counselor (CIC) is responsible for assisting individuals with learning physical, intellectual, emotional, and social life skills. The Community Integration Counselor provides individualized services designed to assist participants in managing and overcoming the difficulties confronted when living in the community. Candidates must have a vehicle.

Starting pay is $17.50/per hour

Responsibilities

• Support and encourage individuals to increase their ability to be as independent as possible
• Meet with waiver participants on a regular basis either in the individual’s residence, the community, or an office setting
• Provide ongoing support for community integration efforts
• Document individual progress toward acquiring community integration
• Assist in building a support network between the individual and the community
• Administer medications and ensure proper completion of necessary documentation
• Coordinate all leisure and volunteer opportunities
• Monitor the health and medical needs of individuals and immediately report any concernsDrive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the community
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred
